Call me picky, but the MSN notification icon (the icon underneath a users avatar and postcount that informs other users that they have Windows Live Messenger) is about 10 years old, and just looks bad.

The icon itself is the tray-icon of the now defunct and non-supported Windows Messenger. If you don't mind, updating it to the present Live Messenger icon would make everything look so much better ;)

Just a thought xD

Yeah, because the new one is much more green in colour, contains better shading and gloss, and just looks better overall.

The other one is pretty much flat and 2D.

And yeah HT, if the other messengers have changed their logos, then hell, we might as well. But AIM is the same, i'm pretty sure that Skype hasn't changed it's icon, and the Yahoo 'Y!' is still the international logo for Yahoo!.

Couldn't tell you about ICQ though. So really, the only ones needing change are MSN and possibly ICQ.

... Is it because they are an "evil corp" :fp: Umbrella Corp.

Lol... I think we really should update it. The current icon is really bad!

Me like this one:

Me hate this one:

I'm currently logged onto Windows Messenger, it loads alot faster then Live Messenger :p

Yeah it loads faster because it's completely stripped of features and designed for computers from 10 years ago, since that's when it was released.

Due to the ignorance of your comment, you walked right into that one.

And Redmarine, the icon that you like is the present one, and the one that I intend on having used. The other one is even a couple years old, and is actually the logo of MSN Messenger, which now no longer exists as it was replaced by Live.

Not everyone adheres to that opinion, and the majority of people here use Live messenger rather than that horrifying trashball.

Regardless, this is not a personal opinion. We're changing it to the display icon for the present Live messenger (the icon that shows up in your system tray).
