Mouse Problem

I recently bought a new mouse.
Microsoft.
Problem is when moving, the cursor gets sort of 'stuck' to lines.
I can move it horizontally but have to shake it [slightly] to get it back to normal.
Its hard to explain, but has anyone had the same problem?
any way to fix it?
my old mouse worked perfectly.

just got it, no idea how to edit options. [the mouse iptions in ctrl pannel doesent help.]

Sounds like drivers or bad texture patterning. Try using a different or better mouse mat and try fidgeting with options in the driver.

If those do not help, get a better mouse (exchange it if possiable) as it is probably a physical fault.

I got that problem too.

Once in a while the cursor just is stuck somewhere, and i have to shake it violently to get it going.

I blame countless falling down from high places.

Exactly what mouse did you get?
Is it optical or laser? There's a difference.
It could be something like DSG said, or just defective. Did you get a warranty? Some mice have lifetime warranties, which you should always get. Not sure about Microsoft, but Logitech gives lifetime on a bunch I believe.

If you can, get your money back and buy a Logitech or Razer mouse.

I love my MX-400, and if you are right handed, I highly recommend it.

(Note that the middle mouse click does suck a bit, but I've gotten used to it. You can also map it to another button.)

I havent noticed any comfortablity issues.. I've been using the same mouse for ages and its still great. I just hate the new mouses with over ninethousand buttons and they never fit into my hands.

Yeah, it's preference, but I don't like using optical mice now. The tracking just isn't as smooth. At least not on the optical I have. Have you tried a laser before?

i have seen those razer mouse, they look wicked, and i bet they work amazing 2.
only problem is the price.

the show i got it from dnt sell logitec wired mouse so i decided to go for genius laser

The mouse works like a dream,
800/1600 sensitivity switchable for normal/gaming
it works on almost all surfaces
its compact
