happy taurein is the cause of all trouble.
I tried to translate the post above, but this is the best I could do:
(replace "picture" with "post")
Yeah, looks like some words, piled up.
who of u guys have the best knpwledge about program Milkshape?
Super Cow i know your problem i think u must to delete warcraft 3 and install it once again and the problem will dispere. Try
HAhahahaha! Great tutorial btw!
I get an error I can't open the .exe file -.- it says : Unable to open "d:\program files\warcraft 3\war3.mpq"!
Make sure that wacraft 3 is installed and that the registry key"Hkey_current_user\blizzard Entertainment\warcraft III\install path"exists
BUT GGC works no the D:\ and i tried downloading it 4 times :/
i can't get to guesst's exporter. the link times out.
anyone know where to find it or an equivalent?
Mmm, in the particles part you should add something about "Model Space", and "XY Quad" and "Line Emitter".
(If you want a non-billboarded particle where the planes are facing upwards, you need XY Quad and Line Emitter checked. Both of them.)
I was pretty lazy on the particles section, I will admit
Are you sure on that XY Quad thing though? Models like the wagon that use XY particles don't have tail, or at least not that I can remember.
Aah nvm it , I am not gonna make a model=D
Why to much time wasting ^-^
When did I say they had tail? It works just fine with Head.
Err, whoops, I got line emitter and tail mixed up when reading your post.
very nice tut.
and i just want to say how anoying those questioning nubs are who expected to be able to model in a day or after reading one tut.. get some sence of life, being good at anything means PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! and some more practice for that part.
to bad milkshape aint free, that be awsome..
Hi, I had a question.
I'm really concerned about keeping my models low (file size). What should I concentrate on? Fewer polies? Fewer particles? Fewer animations? What contributes to a model's file size the most and are there any ways/tools to compress mdx/mdl files so they'll be smaller?
Fewer animations, as they usually take 3/4 of the model's size, if not more.
Animations mostly, yeah, although reducing polies helps too.
For Animations: Linearize animations, reduce keys and reduce animations.
For Geometry: Canonize the meshes, reduce polies, avoid flat unwraps.
For Textures: Use paletted BLPs, if possible, reduce mipmaps until you get a good fitting size for game at 1.0 scale.
the tut has been helpful, thanks
but i'm having trouble figuring out how to actually create the skeleton for my model...
(i'm using milkshape, magos and a few other tools you mentioned)
nvm, i figured it out
Separate names with a comma.
