^ Here's a guide by the Hive. I've used it when I've needed help and it's always worked fine for me. Perhaps it's not a problem with importing, but you're using a bad in-game object to use the model.

Please don't use prefixes in this board & I hope this helps.

Remember, you might need to close the program and re-open it once the models been properly imported.

Open the object editor (F6).
The "Unit" tab should be open by default, if not: open the unit tab.

Now go to Human -> Melee -> Units and select the Peasant.
To the left, you see a set of values, select "Art - Model file" and select your imported model.

If the model does not work, then the texture path is wrong.
Open the import manager again, open the readme-file of the model (every file has one) and check the path names.
If these don't match, then change the path name of the textures to what the readme-file says.

Hi, im having some of the same problems and i have looked everywhere to no avail. here is the situation, I download a model named MedicFK and i started the import process. I imported the files and changed the .blp (like i saw in the tutorial) to have a custom path that was in the readme. When i tried to bind the Art - Model File (Medic.mdx) it turned into a custom file (Medic.mdl) no matter how many other models i try it come to the same conculsion.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post. All help is apprectiated.

Aha, I believe you can edit the MPQ-file for that.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to do this without getting a fatal error yet.
I simply renamed the model to "peasant.mdx" and "peasant_Portrait.mdx", set the texture to "Peasant.blp" with MDX Pather and then replaced those with the standard files.
However, warcraft won't start after I do that.

And honestly, I can't see where I went wrong - the file names are identical, as well as the texture they require.
