Hello again guys, sorry to bother, but i was wondering if you would know how to fix something like this:

ss0000s.JPG

This model (that i'm currently working on, soon to be posted) has the Fel Guard anims and the peices are separately geomerged. However, the arm comes completely off during that animation (as you can see). There are a few of these problems with my other models. Is there a way for me to fix this? Thank you again.

The reason is that the arm is following the Fel Guard's arm bone. You'd need to get the end of the arm and join its end verticies to those of the body, but they'll need to be in the same geoset.

Use the Merge Geoset function of the Vertex modifier

But if i do that, there's no articulation, the piece stays against the part that its attached to. For example, if i merge the geosets in the Vertex Modifier, lets say, the upper arm, it stays at the side of the model and doesn't move because it's not moving with the correct bone........so yea....?

But the arm comes in (in this model and a few others) 3 parts: Upper Arm, Forearm, and Hand. By geomerging an entire arm it takes away the animations from it and would make the 3 peices move as one still piece attached to the bone its merged onto.....right? Guh, this would be much easier through IM...but yea...i appreciate your help

Ok...what i did was make a copy of just the arm (and it worked, correct bones and whatnot) and i geomerged it through the vertex modifier. However, since you can only do it one geoset at a time...hm...well...hes just got a dead arm sittin there. Listen, what i want to know is if there is a way to join the parts, because essentially what i'm doing is taking individual parts for bones (Upper arm for Upper arm, Chest for chest_bone) and geomerging them together. The peices work together, but aren't necessarily connected. As such as in this case, the parts extend to a point where they visibily come away from other parts. This is my problem....gr...thanks for your patience...

Here's how to sorta fix it

1. Get the mdl of your model
2. Open Vertex Modifier. Open it to the geoset with the body
3. On the file menu, choose "Merge Geoset"
4. In the opening box, select the mdl that you're editing
5. Select the geoset with the part of the arm that you want
6. Unselect the arm, and select the verticies around the body and the arm. The ones near eachother
7. Use that function that changes all the verticies there into 1

That works for me. Should work for you

Hummm....i think i understand, the only problem is with this particular model. I'd post this model if i didn't think it'd get me bitched at by hundreds of angry downloaders....its doesn't bother me, cuz you can hardly tell in the game...i don't want to submit something i know is intentionally flawed...perhaps i will take out the faulty animation....bah, now i'm rambling
