It works if I make the map by using JNPG and normal editor? So that I sometimes switch from program to program..

Hopefully it works it depends on your CPU ...(huge system requirements)

Also keep in mind a 480x480 map requires also a good pc...
An average user cannot play this map,his wc3 will crash.
I just tried this myself...

In my case, switching from Newgen to normal editor in a 480x480 i get an error message about .mpq.

You can open a map with size higher than 256x256 in the normal WE, but you can't save (you get an error saying your terrain is too big).

Also, there's no reason to switch between NewGen and normal WE. NewGen can do anything the normal Editor can, and more.

@ reason 3: The terrain size itself is no problem for any computer. A bigger map just has a higher amount of doodads and units that can make the game laggy.

NewGen has too many toolbars and stuff. :<
What are you calling "toolbars"? ^^
Do you mean the sub-menus? It only has 5 more than the normal WE... and if you read 1 or 2 threads about the JNGP, you should know what the additional options do.
