The beta version of the map I'm making, Doom 3, was at 14.1 MB (file size) but after using the wc3optimizer, it was shortened to 11.0 MB. How can I get it to lower even more without deleting stuff in the map?

The fact is, you can not. Nothing can change that fact and so you will have to live with it.

However you can reduce model size via one compressor I saw at WC3C. Also you can optimize your triggers by making them in JASS so that they take up even less space after optimization. Any sounds used can have thir quality reduced to further decrease size as well.

Ok make sure that none of the sounds are .wav files. These files are not compressed correctly by Vexorian's Optimizer (if your not using that optimizer, you should be! Its much better then other optimizers) Instead use mp3 files.

Make a copy of map and tryit... Share your experience with us other n00bs her:xxd:

I would, if i have a completed map full of triggers to try, because i doubt it makes a diff with only a few.

Edit: but Dr Super Good said it would so i guess there is no need:D if i post a few of the triggers that requires a lot of gui lines can someone make them more efficient?

look... i have a map that without optimization use to have 5 mb ... i only use vexorian's map optimizer and it use to reduce my map size in 22%... (almost 3.5 Mb)

but i guess your problem is in sounds... make them the worst quality you can (its been a while since the last time i messed with them...) i guess that for wav is 8000KHz 8 bit mono 7Kb/s i used sound recorder (accesories > entertaniment .. mine is in spanish )to make wav sounds (i had no troubles with them and i have many)

And for mp3 use 22050Hz 40Kb/s stereo that should work to make them small and in good quality... consider that in warcraft3 mp3 sounds are listened all over the map (good for music) and wavs may be played attached to units (good for spells and voices)... if you need more help just pm me ive been playing with sounds a lot :p

Good luck

is this what you are talking about?
