Making An Icon
By Healingpoison

BEST VIEWED ON: A dark theme

This is Archian's request so here goes:

-Required Tools-
Wc3 Image Extractor - Wc3 Image Extractor
Picture it 9, Photoshop, or any other picture editing tool (GIMP is free I think >> GIMP)

-What You Do-

-Step1-
Open Wc3 Image Extractor

-Step 2-
Select the Icon you want to edit (If you want to create your own just select an icon with the same border)
Right click
Select "Save"
Save it as a .tga

-Step 3-
Open the icon in your editing program (I find the icon and right click and go to "open with" but you may have your ways)

-Step 4-
Edit it
Save as a .tga

-Step 5-
In wc3 image extractor go to file >> Open and open you file.
A picture of it should appear in the picture box

-Step 6-
Select File >> Save and save as a .blp

-Step 7-
Open Import Manager
Import the file
Change the path >> Get rid of the wc3imported part and replace it with ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons keep the file name of the icon there!!!
Save WE and your icon is ready

-Step 8-
Come post your icon at hive

Last Bit: In the Hive Database to submit a normail icon it requires you have a Disabled version, and for a passive version of the icon you need a passive disabled (same thing as disabled....). If you need any help with making the different types of icons, contact me and I will help you.

I didn't really request it, but w/e.

Here are some needed things before i will approve this.

1) Please skip a line, each time you go to the next step (to make it more overviewable)
2) Please include a direct URL to the required tools.
3) Fix this "Save it as a .tga"
4) In all, just make it more easy to overlook. (it's kinda messy)
5) It would be good if you included some screenshots.
6) try not to rely to much on color tags.

Other then that, it's good.

Suggestion:
"perhaps you could make a tutorial on how to do it."
Request:
"perhaps you could make a tutorial on how to do it?"

The ? mark denotes a question, or in this case, a request. Also, your phrasing of "That was more likly a suggestion, not a request." is rather odd, as it implies you don't know whether you were suggesting or requesting 0.o.

No no no, you got it all wrong.
Suggestion:
"perhaps you could make a tutorial on how to do it."
Request:
"perhaps you could make a tutorial on how to do it?"

The ? mark denotes a question, or in this case, a request.
The ? could also be understood as in a sentence like this

"Or perhaps you could make a tutorial about it, huh? Could be an idea, huh?"
Or something like that.
Also, your phrasing of "That was more likly a suggestion, not a request." is rather odd, as it implies you don't know whether you were suggesting or requesting 0.o.
Suggesting something, is kinda a mix of both a "request" and a "suggestion".
Or, perhaps you simply dont know how to understand my post?

Anyway, if you really wanna continue this discussion, PM me.
I'm tired of you always getting topics off-topic by questioning my jugdement or comment my posts.

You should include an explanation on how to make a icon passive, disabled etc. then..
