Maim Blackhand

Background Story

To help convince the chieftain, Gul'dan taught some of the Blackrock clan's shaman in the ways of fel magic and how to rapidly grow adolescent orcs to adulthood by imbuing them with fel power. Blackhand was astounded by the results and ordered the shaman to transform his young sons Dal'rend and Maim into "proper soldiers". After coming of age Maim served as a member of the Horde, participating in the savage war against the draenei.
After this, Maim alongside Dal'rend accompanied Blackhand into Blade's Edge, where an alliance of ogres and orcs was made. Eventually, both sons drank the blood of Mannoroth.
Dal'rend and Maim ultimately became leaders of the Black Tooth Grin clan, an offshoot of the Blackrock, and accompanied their father through the Dark Portal. After Warchief Blackhand was killed by Orgrim Doomhammer, Dal'rend and Maim continued ruling over the Black Tooth Grin.
During the siege of the Capital City of Lordaeron, Dal'rend was ordered by Doomhammer to have his clan break off and chase after the traitorous Gul'dan, who had taken to the sea in search of the Eye of Sargeras. Maim followed his brother as their army battled against Cho'gall's Twilight's Hammer, but once they learned that Gul'dan had perished within the Tomb of Sargeras they retrieved his skull from one of the warlock's followers before sailing back east and returning to Doomhammer.
Maim and Dal'rend later personally fought Turalyon at the Dark Portal, only to flee when it became evident that the paladin had the upper hand.
While most of the rest of the Horde was defeated by the Alliance at the end of the Second War, Dal'rend and Maim evaded capture and took control of Blackrock Mountain along with other Horde survivors, with Dal'rend declaring himself Warchief of the weakened Blackrock clan. Dal'rend and Maim despised Orgrim for having killed their father and blamed him for the Horde's defeat, and the brothers now planned to reforge the Horde as they saw fit. They gradually reached out to other large groups of survivors, trying to rally them under their new banner.
"We are the true Horde!"

(I think Maim is stone gray. But an additional brown version is provided.)

Interesting take on Maim. Every time I see him in some custom maps and campaigns, people decide to make him more buliker and brutish version of Rend.

I know this artwork was used in Hearthstone for Maim, but I think they just re-used WoW TCG artwork of a random orc to save some money. And that artwork was cut in a certain way so it looked like he is wielding some kind of big schmitar.

Nontheless pretty amazing Orc model. Great job!

You are really doing justice to the outlooked characters. I hate how Maim and other cool horde leaders were killed ofscreen or during simple quests in wow. Now they can be heroes in their own stories in user's custom content.
A few suggestions on the model. Rename "Attack Alternate" to "Attack - 2". And Hero glow should dissapear gradually during death and be unseen during dissipate just like fire emitters on his shoulders.

Dude, you've done a fabulous job, though given that he has a combat knife on his side, it makes sense if you have Maim use that too.

If you're thinking about making Warchief Blackhand himself (and I mean if, mind you), then here's a reference from the extinct Dawn of Chaos mod you might find useful.

Otherwise, your call. :)

Excellent model 5/5 !!!

Finally a ranged orc hero with crossbow too !!!

May I ask you a favor, I was wondering about the red colour of his crossbow, maybe a full wooden, black metal of it may be better and a TC model version on shoulder would be cool too?

Without a doubt, another incredible model, I think it's interesting to give it a distance approach, just like it is represented in Hearthstone, although it wouldn't hurt to have a morph animation so that it changes from range to melee using its knife, that would be great.

I'm looking forward to the others and especially to Blackhand, in my humble opinion, Blackhand's design from the movie is the one that best represents the character, in addition, the design from the movie is the canonical one according to the lore: Blackhand
