magic resistence spell

i have problem with making magic resistence spell. i tried using magic resistence item and transitoning it into hero ability , however the ability doesn't show up when the hero learns it. I found out that i can make a fake ability that has the tooltip. However i can't make the fake ability level up.

I would go for a elune grace based skill instead.
Elune grace gives damage reduction % against magic & spell Damage (Attack type) and some other stuff if you want,
