Magi is a relatively simple map that I've been developing for a few months, off and on. The main premise of the game is strategic choice of abilities, and then using them proficiently in order to defeat your opponents. It is, in my opinion, an intricate rock/paper/scissors game, with some skill-based abilities thrown in.
So what exactly do you do in Magi?
Well, your goal is to advance your proficiency as a spell user in first-hand combat with other spell users, ultimately obtaining new ranks until you become the rank of Magi. You do this by first choosing three different spellbooks, an instrument of battle - your wand, and some clothes that express your particular style. After you have done this, you enter one of the Tower of the Magi's grand arenas, where you participate in battle with other spell users.
Battles can be fairly short, or fairly long, but are always fair, because every single player has access to every ability in the game - at the start of the game. This may seem a bit dull, but players often take different paths when choosing abilities, ultimately resulting in different strategies and interesting, decisive battles.
All in all, this map is in its early stages, with much more to come - more spellbooks, wands, accessory items, arenas with specialized environments. I welcome any ideas, suggestions, or insult-ridden rants.
