Back then before the hostbots existed i played a map that was similar to medieval/lotr builder. At the beginning everyone was able to choose a leader and then you started in a town in the middle of the map and everyone was invulnerable inside this city. Inside the city you could buy items for your leader or trade gold and wood. The map was split into four different corners that had a different design. To get gold you need to build houses that give you an income. Wood was just like in melee but the trees were invulnerable. If a leader was "killed" he didn't die he was temporarly paralyzed and it was possible to catch him with a prison car. The teams was changeable during the game and to defeat someone it was necessary to catch his leader and put him into a secured place because others could free him. The map was in german but was easily playable without knowing the language. The map looked similar like in the picture that i drew.
