Linkbacks

Sup dudes.

Everbody heared from them: The linkbacks!
They are quite useful, however, they increase loading time of some topics drastically.

Example: here

I suggest by default only load the container (closed) and when clicking on it, actually load the content with JS.

It will make most pages faster to load and does not remove the functionality.
Also the page view won't screw up or the scrollbar disappears in a really small block.

What do you think?

Oh and suggestion2:

Remove the SESSION ID string and the s="" and actually create linkbacks with that. That will mostly remove doubled linkbacks.

Oh my god there are many linkbacks

And btw. the linkback system is made by the vbseo guys so editing it requires a lot of maintenance.
With vBulletin 4.0 we probably won't have linkbacks anyway.

I've been aware of the crazy amount of linkbacks since it was implemented.

EDIT: Possibly to remove those links? They're links throughout our project's entire history.

To be honest I don't like the linkbacks too much. And I didn't really want them in the first place.

Only the ones who have been used to linkback to something (so someone has to click them before they appear)

He means if his sig contains the link to the thread and it'll just add up to the list in the Linkback in D3W thread.

Yes. Aslong as nobody clicked on the link it will NOT be displayed as linkback.
As soon as someone touched the link in his signature, the linkback of the current thread with the post of his signature will appear.
