Hello and welcome to Life of a Peasant Ultimate. The map is still in beta stage (below 1.0) so if you play it please report all bugs, ideas and suggestions you have to me, here at the forum or at Northrend.
What is this map about?
The map simulates a modern town with fantasy elements. There are three big powers in the city. The police, the mafia and the druglord. These faction are battling each other since their winning conditions needs them to kill, imprison or otherwisly challenge the other powers. Additionally there are 7 normal villagers. These villagers don´t need to get involved in the power struggle but there is a big chance that they will. Mafia and Police want taxes from these guys and the druglord wants to sell ... well ... drugs to them.
So no one is save.
For the villagers there are a lot of unique jobs with different things to do. You can be a garbageman or you can be the cryptkeeper, delving into dark magic. Or you just can go fishing. Do what you want it´s Life of a Peasant after all. Besides of money the jobs will also provide you with skills or unique items that will help you in getting mightier. And if you are bored you can always go to the east part of town and clash some gang members.
All in all LOAP Ultimate brings the loap-genre to a new level even in the beta stage and I got many comments on b.net that this is already the best loap-map out there. So go on, play and see for yourself. I wonder if you can find the hidden skills?
The map is regurlarly updated by me and optimized with Vexorians tool. As a side-effect you cannot open the map in the editor. Sorry for that.
Features:
---------
-Winning conditions for the big three that will result in a fierce fight over the town.
-Working techtrees and many units for the big three factions.
-A drug-addiction system that will ensure that your consumers will stay consumers.
-13 different jobs divided into T0/T1/T2 jobs.
T0 jobs are jobs that do not need specific stats and can be done by different people at the same time. Fishing is a good example.
T1 jobs are the basic jobs that you can do with your starting attributes if you chose the right hero. Example is thief, cryptkeeper or mailman.
T2 jobs are better jobs that will give you more rewards and more influence. You also need a lot of stats in order to take them up so you cannot do them from the beginning. An example of an T2 job is the doctor that can set the revive price for dead heroes and will also get the money they need to pay for reviving. Another T2 job is the assassin that will need to slay other peasants or even the leader of one of the big three in order to get money.
-Taxation system
Police and Mafia can set taxes from 0% to 5% that they charge from the peasants. The peasants can also deny to pay those taxes but that may result in cop/mafia getting very angry.
-a cool banking system
Every player can deposti his gold into the high or the low security vault getting 5/10 % interest. Each coin deposit will give the police money every minute. But if someone breaks into the bank and steals the coins he steals directly from YOU. So keep your eyes open and hope that the police is on guard.
-a stonepit in the prison
If you make the police angry he can throw you into the stonepit and force you to climb some stones until you earned enough money with it to pay for your crimes.
-a casino for the mafia to let the peasants gamble for their money. Will you play fair?
-learning by doing
While the big three get fixed skills every time they level up, the peasants start without any skills. They have the possibility to get skills from their jobs. For example mailman will give you a speed bonus when you deliver enough mails. And if you deliver even more mails the speed bonus will raise. There are also secret skills in the game and buyable skills.
-imported models for several units
