Letterbox Mode

So, I wanted to hide the interface for all players.

Letterbox Mode:

Puts the camera into Letterbox Mode, hiding the game interface.

Ok, so why does Letterbox mode disable all user control? I can't type, move my unit or even use my cursor. It seems to behave exactly like "Turn on Cinematic Mode".

  • Events
    • Time - Elapsed game time is 0.01 seconds
  • Conditions
  • Actions
    • Cinematic - Turn on letterbox mode (hide interface) for (All players): fade out over 0.00 seconds
    • Sound - Set music volume to 0.00%

So, what's the difference between cinematic mode and letterbox mode? Also, is there a way to hide the interface?

There is not much difference between Letterbox Mode and Cinematic Mode. If you will notice, when you use Letterbox Mode, it will make the Interface slowly disappear and change with the Cinematic Mode. It just actually makes a cleaner and neater transition to Cinematic Mode.

Ok thanks for the answer. Now that I'm tackling a complex map, I've really been noticing the limitations of WC3 World Editor now. Shame you can't hide the interface.

Also, from my experience, letterbox mode doesn't mess with visibility while cinematic mode enables visibility for the whole map during the cinematic...

you can probably import alpha'd skins for the UI so that they become "Hidden", though you might not be able to change it in-game anymore
