Hopefully this is in the right thread.

Alrighty, I wanted to play vs my sis, everything is just fine, both devices
do detect each other, but whenever one tries to connect to a game
it says that it is unable to join.

After trying to join the game name dissappears and it looks
like it is loading or something but then that mesaage pops
up.

Could there be any solution for this? :( I've looked around
on the internet but all of the issues were just about the devices
not detecting the host.

I'm using a tethering hotspot for this, might that be the issue?
We don't have a router and it works just fine for games like
Minecraft.

Do you have same patch?
Try making exception for war3.exe in Windows firewall.

Both games should be unpatched, I'll check up on the
versions. As for the firewall thing, I can try.

Edit: Never did anything in firewall, no idea how to make
exceptions but I doubt that's the issue anyways, the
host wouldn't show up in first place.

After googling I found that on top of having same patch and executable exception, you need to forward TCP port 6112. That's all, happy gaming. :)

By that you mean setting the port to 6112?
It was at that value since the game was installed.
Sorry if I am getting it wrong, noob english

Hmm, here's thorough steps for what to do:
  1. Start Menu > Search for "firewall"
    upload_2017-1-13_19-4-4.png
  2. Left-hand menu > Inbound rules
    upload_2017-1-13_19-5-55.png
  3. Right-hand menu > New rule...
    upload_2017-1-13_19-6-20.png
  4. Check "Program", then click Next
    upload_2017-1-13_19-7-7.png
  5. Locate WC3, then click Next
    upload_2017-1-13_19-7-51.png
  6. Check "Allow the connection", then click Next
    upload_2017-1-13_19-8-29.png
  7. Having all entries checked (by default) in the "Profile" segment, click Next
  8. Give good name, then click Finish
    upload_2017-1-13_19-9-39.png
  9. Do same for "Outbound rules"
    upload_2017-1-13_19-10-20.png
  10. Now another rule for both inbound and outbound, for the port 6112 (check Port instead of Program)
    upload_2017-1-13_19-11-17.png
  11. Check TCP and 6112
    upload_2017-1-13_19-11-40.png
  12. Check "Allow the connection", then click Next
    upload_2017-1-13_19-12-11.png
  13. Having all entries checked (by default) in the "Profile" segment, click Next
  14. Give good name, then click Finish
    upload_2017-1-13_19-12-55.png

Next, go to router configuration page (usually http://192.168.1.1/), open TCP port 6112 using the interface.

Default login credentials are: user name "admin", password "admin".

turn off your firewall, which will alleviate any need for exceptions.

when you open the game in the bottom right there should be the version number of the game. if the number on your sister's computer and yours doesn't match, the game won't sync.
