I am not sure how many of you guys are into Overwatch, but Jeff Kaplan just left Blizzard.

His personal note seems to be somewhat abridged. For a person with such communication skills, it sure seems weird. The entire statement basically says everything and nothing; it's a corporate way of "critical communication" which fails to tell us the most important thing - why did he leave.

I don't want to overthink stuff, but this entire thing stinks and it seems to me that once again, developers (gamers) are struggling against managers and they are being obliterated.

I can't shake the feeling that we lost so many people, that formed, shaped, and embodied the spirit of Blizzard, but we were left without anyone charismatic, smart, or energetic enough to fill in their shoes. Current Blizzard feels estranged to me. And that is just depressing.

We owe a lot to Jeff, he fought for gamers, customers and always remained humble. He did a lot, not just for Overwatch, but for WoW and Warcraft. This is why he should be remembered as one of our golden boys, even here on Hive :)

Shorel'aran, Jeff! 💙
