[Spell] Jass Spell Help for newbie

Hello, I am completely new to JASS. I have been trying to learn the ins and outs of the scripting. I just can't seem to understand how it works.

I am looking to create some spells for my game.
-Single Target Heal
-Chain lightning (esc ability)
-Buffs

and so on. If you would like to help me or refer me to some resource it would be much appreciated.

It shows the relationship between GUI and Jass to give you an easier time jumping into Jass.

You may also want to take a look at my other tutorial. Things you should know when using triggers / GUI. Some of it will help when coding in Jass.
