Make sure you always save before hitting the test map button.
But we don't have much info to work off of. What operating system are you using? Did you try right-clicking newgen and running as admin? Maybe it's lacking the permissions to change the worldedittestmap file (so it loads whatever was previously there?).
Test map button in editor doesnt work no matter how many times I save the map, it always gives the same error relating to some rtc-file. I am running editor as administrator.
I can play the map by starting warcraft 3 and starting custom game, but like I said the changes dont show up so the editor has not saved changes.
Can you take a screenshot of the error you get? (press print scrn, press CTRL+C, open paint, press CTRL+V, crop it, save, and upload here or to some image hosting site)
If you're still getting that error then it means you aren't using the JGNP in the link I posted. You have to delete the old JNGP folder and then replace it with the new one.
Apart from that, you have to disable your antivirus or you have to add the JNGP files as an exception. A lot of antiviruses will detect grimoire as a virus or an attack (due to the way it hooks onto the editor), but it is not harmful (it is necessary for most of the JNGP features).
