Can this be done? I was wondering for a long time now, but never asked. The question is related to doodads that have pathing and cannot be went through by units. I am aware items can be placed over doodads with 0 colision. Perhaps some mambo-jambo script code from jass or something like it?

You could ''make the item a unit''.
What i mean with that is to create a unit or a dummy one and give him the model of the item(the chest with the gold) and make him a flying unit.
After that create regions and triggers that will help you to what you want to do.

I am looking for something simplier, because the amount of items is pretty high. Imagine stacking 5-10 items on a table, it would be very hard to achieve that way.

sadly, no, an items pathing map cannot be edited. There might be a way to edit every doodad in-game's pathing map individually to accept items, but I doubt it
