(Making) Doodads to (regular) units

I was wondering how to make doodads regular units and stuff so that they can be built through buildings or builders.. like have a peasant able to build a barrel... i tried going to the stats place but i cant add doodads to the things they make only units or regular buildings so how do u make them into units / buildings!?!?!?!

make new unit/building and change it model file to model of doodad?
