[Crash] Is it about appropriate to actively discourage downloading the new update by now?

Seeing how the World Editor causes data corruption issues in maps, would it make sense if we try to avoid the new patch, until these issues are hotfixed, or are the issues more contained than they have been portrayed?
I haven't downloaded it myself, out of caution, and I am tempted to keep it that way until the corruption issues have been settled. What do you guys think?

If you are working on old maps then yes it is safe to say you should try to avoid updating until we hear more.

I started a map a few days before the update and even after the update I have had nearly 0 issues so if it's a newer map you should be fine. Only issue I have noticed is if you accidentally use the selection tool while on "terrain" world editor crashes. I have crashed it a few times thinking I am about to select some doodads and bam goodbye however long since the last save I did (I have been saving crazy often now because of this)

even new maps are not save, i started a completely fresh map after installing the new update, and all i did was removing the melee initiation triggers, adding a couple of doodads (like 10 maybe), some cliffs and an unedited worker. and even that one has corrupt icons ingame.

Try out the WorldEditor 1.31 Public Test Release.

There is an autosave system under File -> Preferences so you don't have to constantly save it manually.
Since the tender young age of ~10, I have had an almost OCD-like obsession with hitting CTRL+S every single time I come to a halt for a few seconds. I save by reflex every 30s or so. Best habbit I have ever given myself, I can't remember the last time I lost unsaved progress outside of hard drives burning out.
