Is a splash item possible?

so, I've been thinking of a new item for my map..I thought of an idea where it tested the limits of my knowledge about world editor...... an item that makes a ranged hero do a SPLASH attack whenever it acquires that certain item, is it possible? anyone? help? if it is possible then can you please tell me how?

The item "Orb of fire" gives the holder splash attack.
It uses the ability "item Attack Fire Bonus", edit this ability to change the AOE(area of effect) that the splash does.

You can search for there with the search window with the hotkeys "Ctrl+F" or under "edit".

Do this ^ when they acquire the splash item, and make the Unit they transform into have all the same abilities, stats, etc, BUT on their attacks give them splash w/ proper AoE
