I'm planning on making a map where I use units as lightning effects. Each player has their own lightning effect units. But each player should also not be able to see the other players lighting effect units. So, for each player I want to create lights which only they are able to see.
The only thing i think of is Permanent Invisibility with duration 0.01, that 0.01 will make the unit invisible even if it attack/casts a spell. But it can be seen by gem of true sight.

But you could fix that, with vertex coloring and transparent changes with triggers, its actually just one line to change that(Dunno i newer tried) But i guess it should work.

X is the unit input. There is also a GUI variant. This will give the unit full tranparancy to others.
Not a full solution, but thats alwayts explorable.
I suggest you take off their shared vision if you want the unit to be shaded out to only the owner and invisible to the rest.
If you have low number of player slots being used, you could create a dummy force for each player with full shared unit control, and work with it from there....but thats probably less than optimal.
