Increase special effect size

How would I increase a special effects' size? Like make the fire building explosion 10x larger.

EDIT: Actually, it works to a certain extent... once I scale the effect to say 5x it just doesn't look as good, it looks like some of the effects' parts have been ripped out.

the way u r doing it does scale the effect. basically the spec effect uses small graphics since back when it was made they didnt have the stuff we have now. so when a spec eff is scaled it u can see the pixels and it looks horrible after scaled to much. you would have to do what Nromk suggested to get a better result.
