Aside from a hole in the very top of his head this model is perfectly fine.

Don't put a helmet, it would remove the heroism;

make his hair a lot shorter, and a lot neater, he looks like some kind a hippy
make his face a bit wider, its far to thin and bony
He needs to look more wise, experienced, and benevolent. I'm not sure how but that would make it better

maybe give him some facial hair, but if you do make all his hair black.
