...or interesting map designs, this might interest you

theres some pretty complex (well, above-intermediate at least) stuff in there, but it might spark up some new ideas for your own maps

essentially i've been bogged down with other stuff so i haven't the time to work on it, so i'm just gonna share what i've done so far if anyone wants to take a look for interest or learning value

http://www.wc3sear.ch/?p=Maps&ID=4919

basically, its a 4 player RPG that plays much like old Zelda games, where you were on 1 screen and when you moved off the screen it loaded the next area and put you in that one

it basically has a terrain generating engine based on large strings to load map areas that can accomodate several thousand areas
as well as other things like inventory, item holding, some customized damage system and stuff

as for actually playing i suppose you can, it has 1 chapter that spans about 45 minutes, though many many features that i was thinking of are obviously not implemented, but the main purpose was for map-viewing

wow.. the intro is great, I have never seen a custom map with such a good intro cinematic..

But I don't like the engine itself.. I think the objects are too small and it is hard to click items, units etc.. But the idea and realisation is great anyways, hopefully you will find time to finish it yourself..

well, theres undocumented features like the

"-zoom" command

which zooms in up to normal wc3 camera so you can see things with clarity, i just like seeing the entire board myself

but yeah, personally i think the combat needs to be more interactive with timed blocks and attacks and stuff, but meh, need to work for now
