A Squib! You mentioned snowy, so I thought water :D

It's a hybrid squid and firework, with a metal head. To attack, it whacks people with one of 4 arms, and to move propels itself like a rocket. Several face ideas included for consideration :3

Yeah, but Irrlicht particles are very different from WC3's. If you want to play around with particles there's a tool here. Although I've found a good system that adds a whole bunch of other features to the particles system.

I'm going for a "no magic" approach to this game so there won't be loads of particles everywhere. :p

BAh! I have a good idea. I even woke up early to keep it fresh in my mind. So here's what I'm thinking.

Post Apocalyptic. The game would take place 10 years after 90% of the humans have died off from a pandemic disease. The game would be pretty loose, you'd be able to go around and do what you please, but any elder you'd talk to would have stories about the humans. The generic storyline is that the earth is basically up for grabs. Icarathians are one of the smarter animals around, so they're naturally up to take control of the planet. All the other animals you fight and beat up can be competing species. That's how it can relate back to the dinosaur thing, when a sort of society pack started up there. So the storyline is that you're an icarathian, interested in starting up society, a revolution of sorts. you'd have to rise through status either via kills of the other animal or maybe find the humans that are left and help them, or something along those lines. I'm still a little fuzzy on that. But it would be good explaination for why there are no humans around, and why there's even progression allowed, since they're not around. Celestial blue = [the planet you're on]. "take control the celestial blue" [sic], etc.

So that's most likely the storyline we're going to be using. I'm not saying definitely because things will probably change as we go along but this will be a rough guideline.

As for me, I've got collision and unit selection pretty much down. Right now I'm working on making sure you stay on the damn ground when you walk downhill. :p Oh, and trying to get jumping to work. :p
