    wrong. This way the weapon won't be removed. It will only be so small that it is not visible any longer, but it will still be there.

    Hmm, so what? You can't see it anyway, it's the same sh1t... The model will have a smaller filesize because as you said the weapon will be so small that will be no longer visible | Smaller models = Smaller file size.

    Removing and reducing size gives the same output...

    Useless, it just hides the mesh. Learn to use vertex modifier or something instead.
