How to make Big Bad Voodoo spell target caster?

    Hi, I'd like to know if it is possible to make the Shadow Hunter's Big Bad Voodoo spell target the caster? So makes him invulnerable like it does all the other nearby units.

    Make a dummy unit at position of caster and give big bad voodoo to it (none hero) and trigger it

    I don't think you are able to do that with the hero itself. You'd have to use triggers to make him invulnerable.

    Have you tried playing with the Stats - Targets Allowed ?
    Add the condition of "Self" to the spell, this is just random guess, I'm not any my computer now so I can't test it properly.

    You are going to have to add these two triggers
    • CastBBV
      • Events
        • Unit - A unit Begins channeling an ability
      • Conditions
        • (Ability being cast) Equal to Big Bad Voodoo
      • Actions
        • Unit - Make (Triggering unit) Invulnerable

    and
    • StoBBV
      • Events
        • Unit - A unit Stops casting an ability
      • Conditions
        • (Ability being cast) Equal to Big Bad Voodoo
      • Actions
        • Unit - Make (Triggering unit) Vulnerable

    Ok, it looks like this is not possible through the object editor alone. Target "self" doesn't respond. I've use triggers to detect when spell starts and finishes to make the caster invulnerable. Thanks anyway everyone!

    i have also learnt you cant have 2 heroes using big bad voodoo to make each other invul

    the best way to do this is create an invul dummy that will cast it

    Well Whitedeath's suggestion is actually working well in my map and it's also much simplee than triggering the existence of two heroes.

    the way he has done it could end up bugging though so be carful

    it might not bug its just some ability's bug when making units invul if they get interrupted during casting they could end up with perma invul or somthing else like that how ever i am not sure of what could interrupt it in your map so it could be safe to use in your map

    Since the unit is invulnerable it can not be targeted by abilities and therefore the channeling can not be stopped by stuns or silence or anything else, the spell can not be bugged.
