How to make a Spell cost Gold Instead of Mana?

Hi there, as you probably can see i am new.
Not only to the forum but also to mapping.

Right now I am sitting on my first real map where i want my "hero"-building and Units to use Gold instead of mana for their Spells. I'll mainly use edited basic spells, maybe later i will try to add some simple triggered spells.

Well, since i am allready writing a question i have another problem:
For my map I need speels with (pretty much) unlimited reach but they may only be cast where you can see. (your units or Buildings are nearby so you can see enemies, not only the terrain).

I have checked the Faq and the tutorials, also I didn't find anything on search
so I'd be happy if you could tell/show me how to do it or write a link.

I surely get verry helpfull answers... =/
I allready checked the triggers if there'd be something like "if unit cast spell and gold is 200=< then reduce gold by 200 else cancel spell.

I neither found something that checks how much gold the owner of the unit has nor something that'd canclethe spell.

I allready have read a thead about "cancle" but it would be verry nice if anybody would at least try to help me...
