You turn the Object Editor to Raw Data view and it shows next to the ability name, as well as the ID for the parent ability your custom ability was based on. Additionally if you use JNGP it will let you manually set the ID when creating an ability.
To add on, the hotkey for this is Ctrl + D. Alternatively, you can click on the "View" tab from the Object Editor, and check the "Display Values as Raw Data" option.
