How to create an item that makes you melee/ranged

I want to make 1 hero playable in both melee and ranged styles. So i need an item that makes you melee and 1 item that makes you ranged.
(or without items if its possible, i am bad with triggers so i need the easiest and fastest way to do it) Ty.

Every unit has 2 attack indices. You will have to make one melee and the other ranged, then use Orb abilities to enable different attacks. For example, in melee maps Orb of Fire allows you to become ranged (when attacking air because that’s how targets are set) by enabling attack 2 on units that pick it up. You can do something similar.

The other option is to passively morph your heroes between two forms (melee/ranged) like this: Hero passive transformation

I've made the orb item but it works only if i attack air units, how can i disable attack1? Because the orb activate attack2, but attack1 is still active and it doesnt work

I've made an Melee hero which starts on area with 2 items, the 1 item will make him tank, the second item will make him ranged mage, but can't do that just with the item, cause both attacks are enabled
