How to color already existing models

hi,i wanna edit a flame so that it's purple for example but because it already exist it's not possible, or another case, when i import a flame model i can't edit the flame and i tried already to make them as another doodad but models from doodads and abilities normaly don't work to recolor

Are you talking about the fire doodad? I tried to make this too when i was beggining. The fire itself is not a model, it's a particle emitter. Extract it from the .mpq, open in magos, edit the colors of the emitter. It's very easy, trust me. Then just import it :)

You can try changing the colours in the object editor.
When youve selected the Fire.. in the Art part of the bits you can edit.. you can change the colours red green and blue.

That's exactly what i tried. I don't think it works with the fire particle emitter :(

Why? :(
i've been busy that week, but i think that by saturday i may stay at home then i can do it for you. But you should really get Mago's working. It's a must.
