I was under the impression thats just a unit, with locaust ablity so people cant click on it or attack it.

I have a simple custom model but i was trying to find one that would require the least amount of system resources.

Its for Tracks in my roller coaster game.

I guess ill try it with units, i just fear that the amount that will be placeable with out lag will be much less.

But who knows maybe it makes little difference from unit to doodad if there not moving. I was just under the impression that it took a alot more.

K Thnx guys.

Step1: Import Model or use doodad model
Step2: Make Unit a dummy Unit by adding locust ability
Step3: Place unit on screen at anytime.
Step4: To change its height you give that unit crow ability. Or make it start off as a air unit...then change its height some how that way.

Destructibles - Set occlusion height

This is the function for changing a destructible's height...
But for doodads is something else...

Edit : The trees are Destructibles
So this helps
+Rep please if i really helped you :D

ROFL.
Dot not ask other people for rep ! It is not polite.
Especially when giving false information. Occlusion Height - that is the height beneath witch the destructible occludes the view. Meaning units with smaller occlusion height won't be able to see through that destructible. It is about tall and short.

YES!
It is an action...
It is an GUI trigger action...
And destructibles are not doodads... Blizzard did this...
If you look at the actions list
Categories : Destructibles
Action : Look for/scroll down to Set occlusion height
This actions set a doodad's height during the game, or at innitialization!

Edit : For setting how tall/short the doodad is, use Set Size / Set Scale...
For me, that action set it's height in the air... It doesn't makes it longer...

One word. Re... * Ok, I am gonna stop myself from offending you * .. ad.
You are very very very very wrong
If by any chance you have sight problems, please read my previous post very carefully!!!
Here, I will draw you a picture:
this is a unit - o
this is another unit a
this is a tree - I
Both o and a have the same occlusion height.
I has a somewhat bigger occlusion height.
If they were aligned like this:
oIa
Nor o nor a would be able to see each other.
But if a had a occlusion height > than the tree, he would be able to see a.
FFs.

Well... I help a lot of people but they don't even say "Thank you"...

Don't you get it? Set Destructable Occlusion height does not work. Read spiwn said more carefully...

To answer the question, use a locusted dummy unit like others said, or add an animation to the model which makes it higher, then set the animation with triggers.

You can create a destructable at any height or scale, but for some reason the game lacks natives for which to edit them once created. Thus the only way to do so is to remove the destructable in question and recreate it exactly with the new desired scale and height. This is not recommendable as creating destructables are more processor intensive than most natives and so preforming a smooth size change could be conciderably demanding.
