a really important question, does anyone have a good tutorial on hero balance for hero arenas?

how do i get the pacing right in a map? when the pacing is off in a game you can feel it. by pacing i mean like speed of the game, gold income, experience, and general time it takes too complete.

Look in the http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/tools.php Section. There are some dps-calculators for units, so you can balance the normal attack and maybe health.
Other things are a matter of experience and continuous adjusting. Even DotA gets balance changes every update. You just have to play and try.
Also some players are better/ worse with a certain hero, play around with the values.
Another approach which is harder to make is to create an ingame-interface to increase/decrease a hero's values.
But I would just stick with the first approach.
