How do you make a laser beam spell?

If you're watching One Piece, I am planning on making Kizaru's laser beam. what spell model should I use? I'm thinking of making it an AoE type spell which will explode on the targeted area. And should I use triggers for this spell,where I have to create dummies?

Depends on how you want to re-make it. In this attachment there is two methods, one which uses lightning while the other uses dummy units with models attached.
