How do you delete threads?

That's not how I would phrase it. If you start a conversation with a group of people, it's not for you to decide when the conversation ends. You just brought the topic up, you can't silence the rest when you have nothing left to say.

It would be more rude to silence people when you have nothing left to say.

Also, in certain cases we might close or delete threads if we deem it appropriate. A simple request is not enough, however.
