how do i make my music more WC3 friendy? by reducing the size

when i add an outside music file my map goes from under a megabite to 6.5 megabites? is there anyway to make it a smaller file?

By reducing the quality, of course.
I use this program to reduce quality: Audacity

To reduce quality, open your music, press CTRL + P and click on "File Format" (for MP3/WAV).
There you can reduce the bit-rate.
Click on "Quality" (in the same box) to edit the sample rate.

I could do it for you if you are to lazy, I use superconverter.
Just take note that you'll lose quality.

If you don't really need this music then don't use it. Deactivate the ingamemusic and use wmp to hear your music.
