how can i make heroes gain experience

i have already created the experience bar during the beta though it didnt work at all back then.(it started working during retail.) how can i get the hero to gain experience from kills.

You need to make sure that it has a exp earn multiplyer of greater than 0 from kills. You can also earn EXP from dealing or taking damage if the corosponding multiplyers are greater than 0.

Behaviour - Veterancy / Experience Fraction

Kills need to be greater than 0 in that field.

The target filters must also be correctly set so that whoever the exp is meant to come from will pass.

kills is set to 1 in that field but the hero doesnt get experience at all.

I looked at it and it looked to me like a movie demonstrating how to impliment veterancy... If trying to help you is trolling, then we will all stop.

it wasnt even featured in the movie. the other user wasnt trying to help. (clearly.) the movie showed a map project that dealt with the ability to choose starting unit. please help me out.

Hmm, maybe the link displays differently for different countires...

I hear on SC2 mapster they have a guide covering getting veterancy to work. Perhapse you should try that. Also try remaking the veterancy, it is possible it has become curropt in some way.

the value for how much experience each unit gives is preset and i dont want to change it. (each unit already have its own value. the zergling for example have a value of 5.) i really dont understand what i am missing. please help.

Give a unit veterancy.
Give another unit a kill experience number, say 10.
Boom.

Solution: Delete your hero.
Read the tutorial.

Edit: ANd FYI veterancy worked during beta. I had a Zerg Assault map with heros in it.
You obviously just didnt do it properly.

Than it is an issue with the unit being killed awarding experience, and not a problem with the hero.

Try going into triggers and remove 'Melee - Set Default Melee Options For All Players'
