How can I extract images from Wc3 in this day and age?

So I just got a new PC and wanted to play around with making some minor skin edits to default WC3 skins. How do I go about that?

For example, I let's say I want to extract the Far Seer skin and change his beard to black instead of white. What would I need to do in order to accomplish that?

You can use CascView to extract textures:

The files are in DDS format and can at the very least be edited in GIMP if nothing else.

I'm having trouble finding a good program to convert to and from BLP format on Windows 10. All the good ones are too old.

BLPLab is like the only one currently. I made a hacky Java based one a while ago but it is really not that good.
