There is no "PERFECT" protection that anyone can put on any warcraft 3 map, its like dr super good said, itd be unopenable by warcraft 3 as well. The sad fact of the matter is that if the game can open it, then so can the world editor. Besides, any really good protections that people thought of are not main-stream, because any noob who has access to the internet can google map unprotection and find programs that basically do the "deprotection" for you. Of course the clever map protectors find ways to work around the well known map deprotection programs and would not give up such secrets, but do you really blame them? Best way to protect a map is to find a protection that works for you, experiment with it and see if it works. Then as dr super good also said, the optimizer is an excellent program for keeping file size down and ends up "protecting" it in the process.
