Me and my friend have been working on a warcraft 3 map with heroes of might and magic play style. For those who don't know, on the map, only a hero is displayed and he represents the entire army but when the fight starts, entire army appears. We are not fond with that exact way of unit control but if some1 has an idea on how to control 100-200 units at once, we'd love to hear it.

In the Axis & allies maps for warcraft the commanders can control up to 150 units at once (err at least i think thats how much it is.)

If i had a guess it would be something like

  • Untitled Trigger 001
    • Events
      • Unit - A unit Finishes casting an ability
    • Conditions
      • (Ability being cast) Equal to command
    • Actions
      • Unit Group - Add all units of (Units within 1000.00 of (Position of (Casting unit)) matching ((Picked player) Equal to Player 1 (Red))) to unitgroup
Then have an ability that would order all the units to move somewhere when you used it. This is just my guess though

They would stay in the Unit group though, and it wasn't really clear enough what exactly you wanted. You need to describe more things like that in the beginning

Okay. Imagine that you double click an archer and 100 archers get selected. Now imagine that you shift+double click a footman and you have 100 archers and 100 footmen selected. You order them to attack-move and they form in lines as they would if there was only 12 of them. That's what we need. Unlimited selection.
