I'm currently working on a Rouge-like map idea, mostly leaning towards the game Kings Bounty. Since most people don't know this, you can maybe image it better as Heroes of Might and Magic without all the economy / strongholds.
So just one Hero walking around and battling it out.

How does this work ?
You start with a Hero on an open Map
Your Hero has 8 Slots for your Army. Each Slot can be used for a Stack of Units. In this example I have 4 Stacks.
1 Sasquatch Oracle and 60 Lesser Skeletons ( 15 + 15 + 30 )
In a Shop and through other means you can recruit your Army.
Your Hero is representative for all your Army. You can walk around freely on the map just like in wc3.
On the Map there are also hostile Enemies. Like in this case some necromancers.
If you attack them or they attack you the turn Bases Combat starts between your hero + army against their army. This Takes place on a total different Terrain, the so called Battlefield.
Every Stack has multiple Stats that act like you maybe think they should. ( Attack increases Damage, Defence reduces that damage and so forth. )
Differences to HoMM
I really don't know if I should fully explain everything here, since this is only the recruitment Area ?
Please tell me, if you want to read more, or if I should maybe make another thread at map development ?

- Initiative: On this board there are no turns like in HoMM. A Stack with high Initiative will not only start the fight before others BUT it could also have multiple turns before it. For example a Stack with initiative of 10 can act twice as often as one with initiative of only 0.
- Action Points: Every time a stack can act its action points gets reset. Moving one cell costs you 1 Action Point. Most Actions will NOT end your turn. For example you could walk 2 Cells and then attack. This is different in HoMM where ranged units EITHER walk or attack. Also if you wait, you keep your current action Points.

I am really bad at making terrain / doodads and all that fancy things.
I have no clear plan at how the World should look like. The rough dirt you see in the pictures are just picked because I made the cool looking Sasquatch Oracle and those dudes seem to like such terrains ?
I also don't have a story nor do I know if I need one ?
Maybe this should be more like an RPG with an endgame boss where a single player battles it out ?
Maybe this map is only one level of multiple maps where you can save and load your hero and battle randomly generated Encounters ?
Why not both ?
What about PvP ?
And so much more
Well basically I am looking for someone who has some time to test the maps with me and can give good feedback.
