Ok, here goes nothing...

I'm trying to create a hero that has the ability to tranform into another unit (such as a dragon) and retain its hero stats, I have tryed using crow form and bear form type abilites but the hero loses his/her stats and becomes a normal creature and when he/she changes back he/she is reset back to level one.

How do I create an ability that lets my hero keep its stats when I use the ability?

Pronema, welcome to the Hive Workshop. If you would like to introduce yourself to the Community, you may do so here.
If not, you should at least read the important Site Rules to make sure you won't run in trouble.

If you transform a hero into a normal unit, this will most likely happen. You need to transform the hero into another hero, otherwise, it'll do the same.

Illidian/demon hunter demon transformation?

I just tried that last night and it didn't like that (killed the hero, then crashed).

I'll try Rui's idea, I just don't know what base ability I should use to create it.
