Well I hope this contest will be approved because I really really really love to make heros. I actually started it yesterday, I hope it is legal to do I read all the rules ^_^. I'll give you the link of used mdx's and blp's when I'm done.:grin:I hope this contest will be approved by mods or ads:grin:
And one last question:
Can we use custom sounds? :D
 
I think the front page said we have to say which models we are planning on using so that there will not be doubles of customs. If this is right, I am going to use the Cheese Golem by D.O.G. It is quite good and will suit the comedic nature of the hero I will make when this contest is finally approved.

I want to enter 2 heroes, a partially triggered and a non-triggered. There is actually a lot that you can do with the standard spell. For example, Silence can stop Spells, Melee Attack, Ranged Attack and Special depending on which flags you use.

Either way, I will be using my Procrastination Aura, whatever I name it, by taking Endurance Aura and making its values negative and able to target enemies only. I have done this before and it is freaking awesome.

BTW, NoNZealot, I don't think you are allowed to start your hero until the contest has started.

EDIT: I want to massively alter the terrain of the map to make it more interesting, and to emphasise the impressiveness of my hero, Parrothead is this ok? It won't do anything for my hero. Also, I want to add a level-up trigger, footman friend spawn trigger, enemy spawn trigger and a revive trigger. Are these allowed?

Parrothead, I have redesigned the map that you originally posted. I was wondering if this could be the base map. It has creeps (I think some are magic immune), buildings, neutral passives (tentacles in the water.) The only thing I think it is missing is fliers and blight.
This was originally the base map. I didn't change tilesets or map bounds. It is intended that you start in the top left where the start marker is located.

Everyone else please note that this is not the map you are to work in. That map can be found on page 1.

Edit: Looks very nice and im still pending to change it.. On one hand, people may have started with the old terrain which they werent supposed to and people may want to mod it differently, aoe heroes and such.

Good sides: Creeps respawn, everything is setup besides hero, commands are done.

The Cheese Golem will be the hero (called the Humourist, all his names are puns) and the Critter Turtle will be a summon. I don't think the turtle has attachment points.

My heroes theme will be fun/humour. Most heroes are all serious and such so for this contest, I want to make something different.
 
If this contest gets approved, count me in. I look forward to winning with un-scripted spells. :) (I'll obviously loose, but it's worth a try!)

Unscripted spells can rock. For instance, my Procrastination Aura is just Endurance Aura with negative values that target enemies. All Auras can just be negatised.
-Silence can stop spells, melee attack, ranged attack, and special attack.
-A lot of spells have unused reduce attack speed and reduce movement speed as well as other fields.
-Altering art can re-make a spell massively, like putting the star fall star in blizzard

@Dark Hunter1357 - When I say my hero will not be serious, I mean the hero is meant to be funny I guess would be the best explanation. It will be made as a serious entry and a proper balanced hero. If this contest gets approved, I will make it for the contest and then put it in my map. If this contest gets dissaproved, I may still make the hero for my map at a much later date.

You must make your hero, using the map attached on the first post. After that attach it to the post. And you cant start your hero yet, becouse the contest is not aproved.
The demo map is not attached yet, becouse the contest is not aproved.
 
WEU should not be compatible for any competition IMO, as is makes it harder for judges to judge (as most aren't going to download WEU for a single competition) and its almost like cheating. Its triggers are cheap and terribly coded. I don't see why JNGP isn't allowed, because it provides no instant advantages, only potential if you are skilled enough to use it.
