when @-Grendel deleted all his resources, I reached out to him on Hive asking if there was some way to convince him to keep that kind of stuff up, but, I was not successful in convincing

this whole world has to burn. Bobby Kotick has to destroy Warcraft III to prove his personal worth. The purpose of reforged is to eliminate the works of people like grendel, and devalue them, so that the next generation loses the memory of what once was, and has naught to do but addict themselves to doomscrolling apps created to torture them.

Bobby Kotick had to make modding more difficult, because making warcraft 3 modding more difficult allows for less mods. That way, even in this creative space, the powers that be achieve a future where the gap between the rich and poor grows ever wider. Chronicles of the Second War can become a pinnacle of the division, a unified focus of Reforged modding, to rule them all, so that then when Microsoft shuts off Reforged servers, hive workshop will collapse like paper

It's like the AI said. "There's no reason for me to help them. There's no way to save anyone."

is chronicles of the second war being officially backed by blizzard or something?

not at all. But Reforged is a DRM always online thing, so when its shut off, all its mods die with it. Unlike Frozen Throne, which can still be installed from CD and will be with us for many years to come.

@Retera there's no relation between those things. Mass deletion of stuff from users like him and another, one who somewhat recently defected, were the result of their own egos.
This is likely very true. I probably don't know what I'm talking about. I just wish people like that would keep their assets up

I will say this again, if it was i, i would tell him to eat a dick alongside his stupid motives for blocking his assets and share it again, which is pretty much what the Bethesda Modding community and doom finally decided to do, after the likes of him decided to behave like egocentric primadonas and delete their mods over any hissy fit, or because of paid modding on which many skyrim and fallout modders abuse it on patreon.

Not really, the Russians circumvented that a while ago and you don't need always online to play it anymore, nuBlizzard in their "SHEER WHIZ KIDS GENIUZ" did the most stupid "Always online check" with their client from the known chromium crap, so you can shut that down and make the game work always offline and without online check, which is what i did to keep a modded and normal folder for reforged if anything goes wrong and i need to backup the modded game.

they even did with Diablo 2 and SCR, in fact D2R modding is taking off now because of that, but it will take some time until is like old D2.

Putting a CD that I purchased into my computer and using it to play a video game that I own is on a totally different level morally and ethically than downloading a Russian crack to play a game that was previously taken away from me.

If you think every person who has ever played Reforged will download a Russian crack and run it on their computer when Microsoft discontinues the servers, I must say that I totally disagree with you.

Edit: apologies that this is off topic, however. if you feel inclined to reply to this, maybe we should make a new thread or put it as a post on my profile or something
