I don't know what it's call, but all i want is:
How to make my map always black (undiscovered places) i really think they call it black mask. But when i set up it, players host my map can set it to see all map (for easier play) .... can't explain it clearly, sr

Maybe this can help?

No it is not. I mean when they create a game, host can tick the "Always visible" in Visibility box at Advanced Options. When do so, the map will be revealed. I want to ... somehow advoid this, i mean even do so, they still can't see the map

how would you get it so its like on the campaign maps
where you can see cliffs but not the ground
would you untick masked areas are partially visible
and use exponential (whats the difference between 1 and 2 anyway)
i tried using it once but it just made my map completely black including areas you had vision

Black mask - covers the placements , so the players couldn't see what there happens...(and what there are)

Fog of war - covers the placements with a fog , through which you can see what are there...(but you won't see any units ... at those placements)

(for example: after you have discovered enemy's base (there aren't your units now) - that place of enemy's base is covered with a fog of war ... )
