nicely done, but I personally prefer the one made my olofmoleman http://www.wc3sear.ch/index.php?p=Models&ID=2814&sid=129baa7d019981614729f75dbc61ddd5 though I like the morph animation. I havent imported it yet, but from the screenshot, I think olofmoleman's is more appealing.

Usefulness: 9/10 (the morph animation for 4 arms look sweet)
Eye Appealing: 6/10 (looks a bit blocky rather...)
Effort: 10/10 (Who am I to question the efforts?)
Texture/Skin: 7/10 (Some areas look rather bit inaccurate.)
Good Use of Model: 9/10 (a bit high poly count, I don't know where it all went...)
Overall: 41/50

Nice job. A bit of smoothing it out might help.

ok Mc. critique time.

the walk animation needs to be more smooth. it looks really crappy. his attack spin animation....not only his torso spins around. his legs need to go around too. but with only one bone in his leg that isnt possible to rig.

the main problem in all of these animations is his legs. they dont move enough, and when they do, they look bad. put another bone in his legs. i think this problem is big enough to be animated again.

Polycount doesn't really matter if the model takes 123KB inside maps.

HOLY...Besides the sabers being the wrong color this model is the best model on the site! O.O
Actually He has sabers of every sort, the guys that made the movie were way lazy and made he use sabers of only one color, but anyways, it is incredibly easy to change the color of the sabers with mdl editing.

I agree about the walk animation thing, though I think the other animations don't really need leg movement, he is a cyborg afterall, and it is not like people would ever note that in game.

Can you imagine Olofs head and skin on this fellow?(And maybe a new cape...) But it would be perfect!
Actually I don't like both of the skins, olof's look like a skeleton and this one is CNp from a banner.

Ok, here is what I think.

Good things
Has morph anims
has portrait
looks good ingame
and the lightsaber models are really cool, but they have very high poly for just lightsabers
lightsaber blur
double sided cape
more then two attack anims


bad things
skin is CnP
looks messy from upclose
the walk anim look strange
bad/messy UV-mapping
wrong colour lightsabers, in the film Grievous has two blue and two green, btw, it makes no sense that he would have a red lightsaber, he's not a Sith and doesn't kill sith
holes in the cape
not symetrical
he looks dirty, this isn't really a bad thing, but Grievous has WHITE armor

overall, looks good but little detail, and some anims a bit strange.

hmm, its ok. the attack anims look crappy, for hte most part, he dosent move when he attack except for his arm. try actually doing an attack, i mean pick up a bat and hit something, see teh motions you have to do to actually hit it hard, just things to think about if you update or make another model.

the only reason why they might not hav done it the way "YOU WANTED" was cos, it was not asked, and they were told other wise. the movie should be ur only information of how he rlly is,so then how could u know that he was any different? if u;ve heard different from other than the movie, trust me, its not true, Lucas would sey the same. How u see it in the movie is how it is. His own words...
and yes, the leg anims are as stale as could be, worth a reanimation.
Poly count IS an issue, incase if u some reason think other wise, ur video card has RAM too ya'no, and ALL this stil goes thru ur CPU. Poly Count and the Texture mapping (the res on the textures) is wot kills things on ur system graphic'ly, however in this case of this model, Poly Count and Texture detial could use a face lift and som artistic touches, rather than just a cnp. Cos its a Hero Class character, Detial is a number one factor cos this bad boy deserves attention and cinema treatment. its still nice, despite the flaws...

He collects sabers from killed jedi, the sabers he use might be red, green, blue or whatever depending the ones he tries to use. Logically it is random, and In fact it doesn't MATTER AT ALL, godamnit, any one can change the sabers to use any Color of the 12 available for player colors by just adjusting 4 numbers in the mdl it is not a big deal.

You also contradict yourself saying that polycount is important and it should have more detail at the same time.

btw, it makes no sense that he would have a red lightsaber, he's not a Sith and doesn't kill sith
Actually, colors of the sabers don't have anything to do with being a sith, I've seen a few jedis with red sabers actually.

The other skins are Team Color stuff, Darky's script is lame and asks for them for no reason, he had to upload dummy textures for them.

I'll start with model, model looks great has portrait and from what I know mostly custom anims. Next the skin, you could have done better placing it together and the colours could have been bettter. It better then nething I could do but it still looks sloppy. As for the battle between vex and everyone else, Vexorian don't flame at people for nothing, everyone has an opinion right. So let people say what they think without you getting f***ing pissed at them. And he wouldn't have light sabers of red cause they only come from sith, so ppl who cant edit models may want to have it in just blue and green. Alright, problems solved. :roll:

Dude, Vex is his bro, he's just backing him up. Anyway, go all out on polies for heroes, no one is going to spam the map with this guy anyway, if your using it properly, you should really only have one on the map. I do agree it does look messy on the top though, and the cape coulddo with some editing. Oh, and for the person who said he doesn't move his legs in the spin animation, he has a "stand spin" and a "walk spin" animation.

right. sorry about not testing the model out first vex, but i had some problems with world edit at the moment and was unable to get it to run, and i felt the model was pretty good, so i wanted to give it a rating first.

I did test the model, and i still think its near 4~4.5, though you can't rate it anymore, so it doesn't matter. I like all the animation it has, but I think some of them can be smoothed out a bit. like the attack animations and the walk animations. I still like the fact it has the morph anim, something olofmoleman's didn't have (though i think he's planning to make animations fixing this problem) The model does look a bit messy, I think you can fix this easily judging by the models I saw from you before. nice job, though, its more than what I could have done, and I hope you keep up the good work.

Okey every1 stfu (those ppl, over there that talked gentally or not dammed him, ignore this text)

first, he used his time for making this model as he loved to see u guys happy; is not fair that after all his work, he recieves does unnumarable bad unconstructable critics.

is 1 of his first models from scratch, many modellers that are criticing here (won't number them) actually have never done a shit from their own, what i mean, they all have done things based on wc3 models and haven't even opened 3dsmax taked a simple box and rigg it so it pass to be a complete character, then after that not even know how difficult it is to set bones and link points and even after that animate it.

he may have many errors, but for what he did, he did as greater as any1 over here that are giving unconstructable critics about a model he spent time for u guys to use it. If you don't want it, okey don't use it or even talk of it; totally ignore it. So on i want you guys to respect his work, even thought is not perfect.

As i have said b4 its a great model i just don't agree with the lightsaber colors.To Answer Ghosts questions:
Make like avatar metamorphis or a druid ability give it to grievous then use it,he will transform.
And Only import the model file and Textures/Grivus nothing else!

Edit: I mean Textures\Grievus :?

Its been explained HEAPS of times. Go and LEARN HOW TO USE WARCRAFT ABILITIES

And there are two dummy textures included because Darky's script is buggy as hell and often asks for ingame ones

And if you don't like the lightsabre colours, go and edit the model yourself. Its in the textures section, you'll find it soon enough -_-

althou the model looked like its had alot of work done too it and its something i couldn't do myself i still prefer molemans version as its easier too make out than this one, maybe its the skin i'm not sure i havn't quite figured it out but it just doesnt seem that good too me compared to molemans. purhaps its because when he had cloak on he wasn't attacking and the cloak is making him look more weird than what he should be. animations or a little crummy but i cant do better so i cant say too much about that. overall i dont like this one 3/5

I prefer olofmolemans model over this one.
Simply because his is clean and made all from Vertex Editor while this one seems to be a new model (very messy from up-close). The skin is CnP and makes it look dirty/pixelated, the animations are very stiff for someone who is suppose to be flexible/fast and the sabers are the wrong colours although im sure this has been mentioned many times. They should be (Green-Blue Blue-Green) and not (Red-Light Blue)

Good Job anywayz I cant imagine this would have been easy to work on.
