That was Robert Howard.

I dunno what he wrote, but Lovecraft considered Smith the best writer of all time and praised his skills at horror fiction. If Lovecraft himself had such a good opinion of Smith, then he can't be too bad =)
 
I'd looked before, and I know Lovecraft referenced him before.. but I think his work is either gone or rapidly fading.
 
Hm, Im considering joining the terraining contest... and make R'lyeh and Cthulhu rising! =D
New theme fits it, and thogh Im not confident in my abilities, I guess I could join it, since I have spring break approaching.

However, if anyone wants to make Cthulhu rising from R'lyeh instead of me, I will gladly pass the idea on =P
 
It will have the dark figure of Cthulhu cloaked by the darkness of the night, ruins around raing from the depths, whatever still running from some, with eldtricht statues and reliefs, rain and a lone figure standing watching the Dark One rise from the depths along with the cursed starfallen city of R'lyeh! >=D
